Flight Training Program

Take to the Skies with the Denver RC Eagles!

Have you ever watched an RC plane soar and thought, “I wish I could do that”?

At the Denver RC Eagles, we make it happen. You don’t need your own plane, you don’t need a license, and you don’t need any experience. We provide everything you need to feel the thrill of flight for the first time—completely free.

Why Start With Us?

  • No Gear? No Problem: Use our club training planes and equipment.

  • Expert Guidance: Fly "buddy-box" style with a certified instructor (it’s like a student driver car, but for the air!).

  • Zero Pressure: See if you love the hobby before spending a dime.

  • Friendly Community: Join a group of passionate pilots who love helping newcomers.

Ready for Your First Flight? Getting started is as simple as filling out the form below. Once you hit submit, one of our instructors will reach out to schedule your introductory flight at Suhaka Field.

What Happens Next?

Meet Up: We’ll meet you at our beautiful field in Cherry Creek State Park.

Learn the Basics: A quick ground briefing to show you how the controls work.

Fly: You take the sticks! Your instructor is right there to ensure everything stays smooth and safe.

When you feel confident and want to get your own equipment after the training sessions (up to 90 days) , there are a few initial costs to get you started:

AMA Registration: about $90 per year

FAA Registration: about $5

Denver RC Eagles Club Membership (not required, but truly appreciated!) $100 the first year, then $75 annually after that.

Your own equipment:  It can be about $300-400 for a ‘Ready to Fly’ (RTF) kit with all you need to start out.
